Welcome to my website.  I am Swati Dandekar.  Presently, I am serving my third term as the State Representative for Iowa House District 36.  Recently, I announced my candidacy for the Iowa State Senate from Senate District 18 which includes Iowa House Districts 35 and 36.  I am running for the Senate to follow through my accomplishments in the Iowa House for education, the economy, and the environment, and to do more for health care, government reform and fiscal responsibility.

I believe that we need a fiscally responsible government that not only consistently meets its obligations for public safety, children, seniors, the environment, and health care, but also invest wisely in education and growing the economy for Iowa’s future.

I have always worked hard. I will continue to serve the people of District 36 as their State Representative and meet with people from Senate District 18.  Iowa’s investment in the Vision Iowa Fund, Iowa Values Fund, alternative fuel technology and biotechnology is beginning to pay off.  I see a bright economic future for Iowa.
